A Patch Wilder sits on a small farm, nestled in the West Mendip Hills north of Cheddar. It’s a quiet corner of Somerset filled with steep combes, crumbling drystone wall, wildflower banks and those big Mendip skies — and we feel very lucky to call it home.

A Patch Wilder is located on a private farm rather than a public site but we do love sharing it! So, if you would like to visit and see what we’re up to, then please contact us or check out what events we’ve got coming up.

Making a day of it in the area? Have a browse of our Patchwork map showing 100 wild places — every single one is within a one hour drive of APW, and together they showcase some of the very best wildlife Somerset has to offer. From ancient woodland and flower-rich meadows to windswept hilltops and tucked-away nature reserves, there’s something for every kind of nature-lover.

And if you fancy stretching your legs a little closer to home, discover some of our favourite Local Walks here — a handful of stunning routes right on our doorstep.
